Brendon founded Radiant Pain Relief Centres with a vision to build the safest, most consistently effective and appealing solution to the epidemic of chronic pain. Combining a mission to change the way chronic pain is treated with deep experience in healthcare management, marketing, business development and sales, Brendon opened Radiant Pain Relief Centres in West Linn in February 2014. Following the success of the first center, they are laying out a plan for expansion to open new centers in new markets nationally and internationally. Previous to founding Radiant, Brendon played key operational and business development roles for two Portland-Area Portland Business Journal and Inc. Magazine Growth Award winning companies, and was the Director of Sales and Marketing for another Portland-based medical device start-up. Brendon holds a BS in business marketing and an MBA.
Brendon’s wife, Rachel, is the owner of Lundberg Yoga Teacher Training Program, and teaches at the Gudmestad Yoga Studio and Stafford Hills Club. They have three children and live in the Portland suburb, West Linn.
Dr. Melissa Cady
Chief Medical Officer
Melissa Cady, D.O. is an American-trained osteopathic physician trained extensively in the traditional medical field. With a background of athletic endeavors, personal training, and physical therapy aide work, Dr. Cady’ medical school education was followed by a year of general surgery, a year of internal medicine, three years of anesthesiology, and a year of pain medicine fellowship training. She is currently board-certified in anesthesiology and also in pain medicine through the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Known as the Challenge Doctor, Dr. Cady chose not to join the typical pain practice out of conviction that there is a better way to address pain’s root cause with better education being a critical component. Her first public educational effort is reflected in her recent book/audiobook release, PAINDEMIC: A Practical and Holistic Look at Chronic Pain, the Medical System, and the antiPAIN Lifestyle. It is deemed by many to be a valuable perspective when facing or rethinking how one’s chronic pain is addressed in today’s medical climate and emphasizes why patient engagement, advocacy, and self-care are essential throughout the pain journey regardless if medical interventions are utilized.
As a result of the book, Dr. Cady created, manages, and self-funds the PainOutLoud.com website to highlight the video stories of those who have found ways to overcome their pain and also the thoughtful professionals who are devoted to helping those in pain with more holistic and educational approaches. Her hope is that people in pain will better understand why certain options may better address the root cause of their pain and only use more risky interventions as a bridge or a last resort for extreme symptoms that may hinder their progress. By minimizing or avoiding chronic masking of pain with drugs and other riskier interventions, Dr. Cady challenges people to improve their function and decrease suffering with more conservative measures so that they can live a life with less pain and more joy.
Dr. Cady loves animals, dancing and traveling—she is especially fond of Australia and New Zealand. Oh, and she has a passion for the platypus, which ironically has a connection to pain (male spur has painful toxin untreatable by opioids).
Our Clinical Team is seasoned, experienced and highly caring. Radiant Pain Relief Centres are staffed with qualified and trained care providers who work hard to understand each unique patient situation and to deliver a care experience that is communicative, attentive and outcomes based. We strive to include the client’s spouse, companion and other familial support to enhance and support the care outcomes.
Central to our care delivery are Care Managers. These highly skilled technicians will work with each client throughout care to deliver our exclusive therapy and help create the optimal pain relief experience. Our Centre Managers help guide each client and their spouse, companion and/or familial support team through their care experience and help create a warm, welcoming environment. They are trained in very exacting protocols for both the technical aspects as well as soft skills of communication to help ensure a consistently positive experience and result.
